GHK-Cu
GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide whose levels decline with age, widely used in cosmetics and increasingly sold as an injectable 'anti-ageing' peptide. The laboratory biology is genuinely interesting; the human outcome evidence is close to non-existent.
Quick verdict
Laboratory and mechanistic work shows GHK-Cu modulates genes involved in skin repair and remodelling. No randomised human trial supports the regenerative, anti-ageing or systemic claims under which it is sold, and injectable use has no human safety data.

The support here is mechanistic: GHK-Cu resets expression of genes involved in tissue remodelling in laboratory models, which is why it earned its place in cosmetic formulations. Controlled human trials demonstrating visible or measured skin outcomes are lacking — the claim currently lives on biology, not on people.
Why this grade — the appraisal in full
Evidence comes from animals, cell cultures or modelling. No human trial has tested this claim. Animal lifespan results do not establish human benefit.

- Translation to humans. Results in animals frequently fail to reproduce in people. A lifespan effect in mice is not evidence of a lifespan effect in humans.

Safety and interactions
Topical cosmetic use appears well tolerated in the concentrations used by mainstream skincare. Injectable grey-market use is a different matter entirely: no controlled human safety data exist for systemic administration.
Regulatory and availability. Legal as a cosmetic ingredient; not licensed as a medicine for any indication. Injectable products sold online sit outside medicines regulation.
